Shortfall in sporting facilities identified in local plan submission

Sport Winchester has been closely following the development of the strategic Local Plan covering all development for the next 20 years, and has consistently advocated that Sport and recreation facilities should be clearly defined and included within the Plan, with clear objectives to protect the existing, recover the current identified shortfall in grounds and facilities, and ensure new developments have to both recover the deficits and make good provision for the identified additional resource needed.

Following previous feedback at earlier Council meetings, the attached is the complete submission made to the Council as part of the Regulation 19 consultation, last week. The consultation utilises a data capture mechanism in pre-determined format – hence the style of response. The purpose at this stage is to get high level commitments defined and included within policies.
